Flora Source® Multi-Probiotic® Formula
The term “probiotic” is of Greek origin and literally means “for life.”
We know probiotics as live microorganisms – beneficial microflora that help keep your body’s systems on track and in balance. Many people are exploring these beneficial bacteria as a natural way to enrich their diets, and foods that contain probiotics are cropping up on grocery lists and daily health menus everywhere.
Why should we be concerned with replenishing these live microorganisms? Until recently in human history, once an individual’s internal population of friendly bacteria was established (by age 2), it lasted a lifetime. But in today’s fast-paced, hyper-stressed world, this is seldom the case!
Certain medications, diet, environmental toxins and other lifestyle factors can affect this delicate internal balance, causing digestive distress and resulting in diminished vitality. Once the damage is done, it can take months for healthy colonies of beneficial microflora to regrow; in some people they never seem to re-establish completely. That’s why your doctor or health care professional may recommend a probiotic supplement.*
When choosing among the many probiotic supplements on the market, it makes sense to look to a trusted brand with many years of experience in the production of premium products. For more than 20 years, Nutri-Health® has committed to quality and innovation beginning with our breakthrough product, Flora Source® Multi-Probiotic® Formula.
Why a multiple strains? Many probiotic cultures are needed to support good health. The digestive tract normally has 400-500 cultures and trillions of cells. Multi-strain probiotic supplements have been shown to be more effective to maintain good health and more closely duplicate the normal intestinal ecology than single probiotic cultures.
Lactobacilli probiotic strains primarily work in the small intestine to aid digestion and absorption. Bifidobacteria strains work in the large intestine to detoxify the colon and assist normal elimination. A variety of both Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria strains is optimal.
You take a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement every day because your body needs all its vitamins and minerals. You take daily multi-strain probiotic supplements for the same reason – your body needs more than just a few cultures to stay healthy.
Flora Source® Multi-Probiotic® Formula promotes digestive and immune health with 16 powerful probiotic strains, including acidophilus, and 32 billion cells per serving.* **

Yogurt and Probiotics
Yogurt has become one of our most popular “superfoods,” largely because of the probiotics it contains. There are few things to consider when using yogurt (or kefir) as your probiotic source:
- Some yogurts, especially flavored varieties, contain large quantities of sugar – for the lowest sugar option, choose plain yogurt and add your own fresh fruit.
- To be certain the yogurt you’re buying contains beneficial bacteria, check the label – choose the yogurt that lists the strains of live culture on the label.
Keep in mind that yogurt contains only one to three strains of live culture, while a premium supplement such as Flora Source® contains many. Also, yogurt can be loaded with sugar (anywhere from 17 to 27 grams per serving in leading yogurt brands), and, unfortunately, sugar can promote growth of yeasts and not-so-beneficial bacteria. Flora Source® contains no sugar, is dairy-free and vegetarian, and is packed with potent, live cultures for maximum digestive and whole-body support!*
